This is my first wet shaving brush, and I decided to go synthetic based on my research that such brushes are getting very good, they are “vegan”, and they don’t have smells or mold issues. I figured I can always scale up if I like lathering this way. The brush was silky smooth out of the box. I tried it out with TOBS Cream, and am very pleased. The handle fits my hand nicely, and it was easy to lather up in a bowl. It held a lot of lather and felt great on my face. I didn’t have any issues with splaying around the chin. When I was done, it was easy to wash out. I did notice that hairs were clumping, the way “alan” had reported and showed in a photo. It seemed to me that it was due to clumping of hairs in certain spots, but I couldn’t see why it did that. I then squeezed the knot together and slid towards the tips, and discovered there was still some cream in there. So I gave it a vigorous washing, spreading the bristles as I did it, to ensure there was nothing lingering. After a few shakes and fluffs off my palm, the hairs returned to a normal distribution (see picture). So maybe that was the issue(?) This was only my first usage, so we’ll see how it holds up over time. For the moment, I’m quite happy with this shaving brush.
